Group Excursions Offered by Meztli
One sightseeing tour is scheduled each Saturday, and one each Tuesday to Muyil. These tours are available to students for an extra fee. Sign up at the school a few days prior to the tour.
Note: The school typically requires a minimum of three persons to attend these day trips. For smaller numbers, private tours can be arranged and the published rate will be adjusted depending on the number participating.

Discover the Zona Maya
Rate: 2,800 pesos per person includes:
· Transportation (leaving at 8 am)
· Visit to Carrillo Puerto, capital of the Mayan culture: museum of “Santa Cruz” and church of “Balam naj”
· Visit and swim at cenote Sacalac
· Enjoy a typical Mayan meal
· Visit to the town of Sacalaca and the Virgen de la Candelaria and San Francisco de Assis churches
· Visit to the town of Huay Max's botanic garden and discover traditional Mayan medicine
· Visit Tihosuco and the Guerra de Castas museum and the temple of Del Niño Dios
Cobá Ruins and Colonial Valladolid
Rate: 2,800 pesos per person includes:
· Transportation (leaving at 8 am)
· Entrance and certified guide at Cobá ruins
· Visit and swim at cenote Tamcach-ha
· Lunch in typical Mexican restaurant
· Visit to Valladolid's San Servacio church, convent San Bernardino and the cenote Zaaci
The Capital of Mayan Culture & Bacalar Lagoon
Rate: 2,800 pesos per person includes:
· Transportation (leaving at 8am)
· Visit Carrillo Puerto center and museum Santa Cruz and Balam Naj church
· Boat trip to the Bacalar Lagoon to enjoy a natural clay bath, lunch and swimming at cenote Azul, plus swim or kayak to discover Stromatolites (the earliest of known fossils)
Rio Lagartos, Las Coloradas & Valladolid
Rate: 2,800 pesos per person includes:
· Transportation (leaving at 8am)
· Boat trip on Ría Lagartos natural reserve boasting the densest concentration of flamingos in Mexico. See eagles, crocodiles and a variety of birds
· Lunch in typical Mexican restaurant
· Marvel at the pink lagoons of Las Coloradas
· Visit and swim at a cenote
· Visit to colonial Valladolid, including a museum, chocolate factory and free time
Offered Tuesday afternoons...
Tour of Muyil
Rate: 1,800 pesos per person includes:
· Transportation (leaving at 1pm, back by 5pm)
· Guided tour of the Muyil archeological site
· Boat through turquoise lagoons and Mayan waterways
· Float for 1.5 km in the clear, fresh water of an ancient slow flowing Mayan canal
· Life jackets for boat ride and float provided.
